other: The sample immediately discoloured to brown/black when in contact with the test flame. The sample glowed orange and ignited with a localised flame, but did not propagate or smoulder along the train

If the burning time in the preliminary screening test is less than 4 minutes (40 minutes for metal powders), over a 200 mm distance, then the full range of burning rate tests are carried out unless no propagation is observed, otherwise no further testing is required.
