Endpoint:
boiling point
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a solid which decomposes before boiling
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
differential thermal analysis
Decomposition:
yes
Decomp. temp.:
ca. 140 °C
Remarks on result:
not determinable
Remarks:
The boiling point was not determinable due to decomposition starting around 140°C.
Conclusions:
The boiling point of Bayscript Blaukomponente TEA-Salz was not derminable.
Executive summary:

The measurement of the melting point with the DTA method showed an exothermic decomposition with an onset of about 140°C without melting. Therefore the measurement of the boiling point was not feasible (BTS 2017).

Description of key information

A decomposition of Bayscript Blaukomponente TEA-Salz is observable at around 140°C. Therefore it was not feasible to determine a boiling point. Thus, the study can be waived according to REACH regulation EC/1907/2006 Annex VII column 2.
