Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Appearance of the substance is opaque off white viscous liquid. This was the observation noted by the laboratory who has performed the physical and chemical properties tests.

Observed peaks were between -10.5 to 27.1oC and this range has been reported here for melting point.

No boiling point was observed over the applied temperature range and therefore the boiling point will be reported as >300oC. As the approximate boiling point was above 300oC, no further work was performed.

The relative density of the test item was determined by pycnometry and was determined to be 0.89 g/cm 3±0.01 g/cm3at 20±0.5°C.d.

Particle size distribution is not applicable and thus the end-point is waived, because the substance is marketed in a non-solid or granular form.

Vapor pressure is not technically possible to determine due to high boiling point of the test item.

Both shake flask test and derivation of the logPow from the measured solubility in n-octanol (visual assessment), and measured water solubility methods have been applied to measure the partition coefficient. The log Pow was determined from the measured ratio of solubility in n-octanol and in water at was determined at >6.18.

Due to lack of sensitivity for oleyl esters the total solubility is expected to be significantly lower than the reported value of <200 mg/L. Determination of the water solubility by adding substance to a water solution until the solutions become cloudy (measured by turbidity) resulted in a water solubility of 0.2 mg/L also supports the lower water solubility value.

Surface tension of the registered substance at 25oC is 58.5 mM/m (mean value of tests) at 90% saturation. It is not clear from the results obtained as to whether significant surface activity is a property of the test item.

No flash point could be detected to the boiling temperature. The substance is not meeting the criteria for classification as flammable.

Auto flammability is waived because the substance is a solid with a melting point <160oC.

The substance is not meeting the CLP criteria for classification as flammable solid.

The substance does not meet the criteria for classification as explosive.

The substance is not considered to have oxidizing properties.
