Description of key information

Physico-chemical properties of registered substance were determined from experimental testing.

Some endpoints were waived, based on chemical structure of constituents or experience in handling and use of the substance.

The substance is pale yellow to dark yellow paste at ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure.

It is slightly denser than water.

The substance is not considered to have surface active potential.

It is NOT classified as hazardous with regard to physical hazards (flammability, explosivity, oxidising properties, self-heating) based on Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (CLP regulation).

(OECD 102/EU A1, capillary method)

Melting range stated as 4.8 to 25.1°C

Boiling point

(OECD 103/EU A2,

Siwoloboff)

Boiling point under decomposition stated as 202.5°C

Relative density

(OECD 109/EU A3, pycnometer method)

The density of test item was determined to be 1.0228 g/cm3 at 20°C.

Granulometry (data waiving)

not applicable

Vapour pressure

(OECD 104/EU A4, static method)

The vapour pressure of test item was stated as 887 Pa at 20°C and 1138 Pa at 25°C

Log Kow

(waiving)

Waived based on technical issue and poor knownledge of the composition of the substance.

Water solubility

(waiving)

Waived considering the very complex nature of the test item or of practical use for subsequent assessments

Surface tension

(waiving, not intended to use)

The structures of the constituents of the substance are not characteristic of true surfactants and considering that it is not the intended use of the substance (i.e. not a desired property), this conclusion should be taken with caution.

Auto-ignition temperature

(A15)

Auto-ignition temperature was determined to be 260°C.

Flammability (UN N1)

Flash-point

(A9)

Contact with air/water

(Waiving)

Self-heating

(waiving)

NOT flammable

Flash point was determined to be 89.5°C.

No hazardous reaction anticipated if contact with air or water. Waiving, based on structure and experience.

The test item is a paste with a melting point below 160°C.

Explosive properties

(waiving)

Waiving based on chemical structure of the constituents of the substance.

Registered substance is not to be classified as explosive material.

Oxidising properties

(waiving)

Waiving based on chemical structure of the constituents of the substance.

Registered substance is considered to have no oxidizing properties

Slight variations are possible with composition (UVCB substance).
