Description of key information

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates

In a read across with the source substance glycine (CAS 56-40-6), the EC50 (48h) and the NOEC (48h) of the target substance glycine hydrochloride (CAS 6000-43-7) was determined to be > 220 mg/L and >= 220 mg/L, respectively.

Toxicity to aquatic algae

Under the conditions of the study according to OECD 201, an aqueous solution of nominal 100 mg/L of the test item revealed no toxicity to algae. The 72h EC50 values for growth rate and yield are >100 mg/L and, thus, could not be determined in this study. The NOEC value for growth rate and yield is 100 mg/L (reference 6.1.5-1).
