Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
boiling point
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a solid which decomposes before boiling
Justification for type of information:
Thermal decomposition begins at a temperature of 213 °C (method: DTA, heating rate 3 k/min) (Prokschy, 2014). Up to this point there is no hint for a boiling in the temperature heat/flow diagram (no endothermic effect without the melting, no jump of the base line).

Therefore it can be stated, that Macrolex Rotviolett R has no boiling point up to the beginning of the decomposition.

Description of key information

The study does not need to be conducted because Solvent Violet 59 is a solid which decomposes before boiling. Decomposition starts at 213°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
213 °C

Additional information

Should read >213°C.
