Description of key information

The substance is non-flammable.

The substance has no pyrophoric properties and does not liberate flammable gases in contact with water.

The substance does not need to be classified as a self-reactive substance

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

In a study (American cyanamid, 1984) examining flammable properties, the test substance was non flammable according to OPPTS guideline 830.6315.

Based on chemical structure pyrophoric properties and flammability in contact with water are not to be expected.

The substance does not need to be classified as a self-reactive substance as the onset temperature is greater than 220 °C in the Grewer Oven test (screening test)

Justification for classification or non-classification

The available experimental test data are reliable and suitable for classification purposes under Regulation 1272/2008. As a result the substance is not considered to be classified flammable, flammable in contact with water, pyrophoric substance and self-reactive substance under Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008, as amended for the ninth time in Regulation (EC) No. 2016/1179.
