guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 102 (Melting point / Melting Range)
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:

Guideline:
EU Method A.1 (Melting / Freezing Temperature)
Deviations:

Type of method:
differential scanning calorimetry
Melting / freezing pt.:
-70.7 °C

In the open crucibles, the measurement showed an endothermal effect in the temperature range of -75 to -40°C (during heating up). The onset temperature was derived from the intersection of the tangent line with the highest slope of the endothermal peak with the baseline. After the DSC measurement in open glass crucibles, a mass loss of approximately 40 % was detected. This was probably due to evaporation of water (aqueous solution).

In the closed crucibles, the measurement showed an endothermal effect in the temperature range of -75 to -40°C (during heating up). No other endothermal or exothermal effect was observed up to the final temperature. The onset temperature of the endothermal effect was derived from the intersection of the tangent line with the highest slope of the endothermal peak with the baseline.
