Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

In all cases of doubt, or when symptoms persist, seek medical attention.
In case of inhalation: Remove person to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, get immediate medical attention.
In case of skin contact: Wash with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing and launder before reuse. If irritation persists or signs of toxicity occur, seek medical attention.
In case of eyes contact: In case of contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and get medical attention if irritation persists.
In case of ingestion: If swallowed, call a physician immediately. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
If skin irritation or rash occurs, get medical advice/attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Non-flammable. Use water fog, carbon dioxide, foam or dry chemical.
During a fire the product can form carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides. Toxic emissions may result if product is involved in a fire.
Fire fighters should wear full protective clothing, including self-contained breathing equipment. Fight fire from a safe distance and from a protected location. Use water spray to cool fire exposed surfaces. Decomposition in fire may produce toxic gases. Do not allow runoff to enter waterways.

Accidental release measures

For non-emergency personnel: Wear full personal protective equipment to protect eyes, skin and clothing.
For emergency responders: Wear an appropriate NIOSH/MSHA approved respirator if mist, vapor or dust is generated.
Dike flow of spilled material using soil or sandbags to minimize contamination of drains, surface and ground waters. Do not allow material to be released to the environment without proper governmental permits. Pick up and arrange disposal without creating dust. Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal. Dispose of contaminated material as waste.Clean up affected area.

Handling and storage

Good hygienic practices should be observed. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid breathing dust; if exposed to high dust concentration, leave area immediately. Work clothes should be washed separately at the end of each work day. Since empty containers contain product residue, follow all hazard warnings and precautions even after container is emptied. Keep away from sources of ignition. Ensure good ventilation/exhaustion at the workplace. Normal measures for preventive fire protection. Do not eat, drink and smoke in work areas. Wash hands after use. Remove contaminated clothing and protective equipment before entering eating areas. Store in a cool, well - ventilated area. Keep away from ignition sources, heat and flame. Away from direct sunlight. Store in a tightly closed container. Store away from strong oxidizing materials, acids, edible chemicals storage, avoid mixing storage. Equipped with corresponding varieties and number of fire equipment. Storage areas should be equipped with emergency spill handling equipment and suitable host material.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Occupational exposure limits: OSHA PEL/8Hr-TWA = 15 mg/m3 (Total Dust). OSHA PEL/8-Hr-TWA = 05 mg/m3 (Respirable Dust). ACGIH TLV/8-Hr TWA = 10 mg/m3.
Adequate ventilation should be provided to keep dust concentrations below acceptable exposure limits. Discharge from the ventilation system should comply with the applicable air pollutions control regulations.
Wear safety glasses or goggles to protect against exposure.
Use gloves as a standard industrial handling procedure. Appropriate chemical resistant antisepticise and acid and base resistant rubber gloves should be worn.
Wear appropriate protective clothing to prevent skin exposure. Dependent upon degree of potential exposure, additional personal protective equipment may be required, such as chemical boots and full protective clothing.
Appropriate anti-dust respiratory protection shall be worn when applied engineering controls are not adequate to protect against inhalation exposure. Air purifying respirators do not protect workers in oxygen deficient atmospheres.
Wear suitable protective clothing to prevent heat.
Avoid discharge into the environment.
According to local regulations, Federal and official regulations.

Stability and reactivity

The substance is stable under normal storage and handling conditions. Stable at room temperature in closed containers under normal storage and handling conditions.
Avoid contact with heat, sparks, open flame and static discharge.
Avoid contact with strong oxidants such as liquid chlorine and concentrated oxygen, strong acids.
Carbon monoxide, Carbon dioxide, Nitrogen oxides (NOx).

Disposal considerations

The material should be disposed of by incineration in a chemical incinerator in compliance with national and regional requirements.
