Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Ames tests on the structural analogues DNNSA and BaDNNSA were negative with and without metabolic activation. In view of structural similarities, the results of the tests on BaDNNSA and DNNSA are considered representative for MgDNNSA. A chromosome aberration test and a Mouse Lymphoma cell mutation assay on BaDNNSA were both negative. Therefore it is concluded that also MgDNNSA is not expected to exhibit mutagenic or clastigenic properties.

Justification for selection of genetic toxicity endpoint
Ames tests as well as a chromosome aberration test and a mouse lymphoma test on structural analogues were negative.

Short description of key information:
Ames tests as well as a chromosome aberration test and a mouse lymphoma test on structural analogues were negative.

Endpoint Conclusion: No adverse effect observed (negative)

Justification for classification or non-classification

Structural analogues of MgDNNSA were negative in an Ames test and in two other in vitro genetic toxicity tests (mouse lymphoma cell mutation assay and chromosome aberration test in human lymphocytes). Therefore MgDNNSA is not classified for genetic toxicity according to CLP (Regulation EC No 1272/2008) or DSD (Directive 67/548/EEC).
