Description of key information

In accordance with Column 2 of Annex IX of the REACH Regulation, the bioaccumulation test on aquatic organisms need not be conducted when the substance has a low potential for bioaccumulation, for instance when the Log Kow is <3. In addition, bioaccumulation testing on terrestrial organisms is also not required when the Log Kow is <3 and direct or indirect exposure of the aquatic (or terrestrial) environment is unlikely.

A reliable partition coefficient study using OECD Guideline 117 measured a Kow of 8.54 or Log Kow of 0.931. The measured Log Kow is substantially lower than the REACH threshold indicative of bioaccumulation potential and the substance is therefore considered not bioaccumulative (B) or very bioaccumulative (vB) and testing is waived. In addition, exposure to sediment or terrestrial organisms is not predicted based on the unlikely potential for exposure to these organisms.
