Description of key information

The study does not need to be performed, because the test substance is solid at room temperature and under atmospheric pressure and has a melting point below 160°C.
Literature data from safety data sheet and a guideline study with a similar substance are presented additionally.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
265 °C

Additional information

Literature source (safety data sheet) states a self-ignition around 265°C for "Amines, tallow alkyl". Original references or methods applied were not stated. Additionally, the study of the auto flammability of "Cocoalkylamine" is presented. For "Cocoalkylamine", the self-ignition temperature was determined to be 255°C at 1006hPa by method according to A.15 acc. to GLP.

Both values of the safety data sheet and the guideline study of a similar substance are within the same order of magnitude. As key parameter the value of the study (20020763.01) was used (read across to C16-18-(even numbered, saturated and unsaturated)-alkylamines)
