Additional information

A flash point value of 3.4°C was determined in a reliable study conducted according to ASTM D 3828-87 closed cup method. The result is considered to be a key study ( Dow Corning 1998) even though the study was not conducted according to GLP. A flash point value of 6°C was determined in a reliable study conducted according to ASTM D-92 method. Open cup studies all have a wider range of uncertainty compared to the closed cup studies. Therefore, the open cup study (SEHSC 2003) has been assigned for the supporting study. Finally, a flash point value of 17°C is reported in an internal company data compilation (Crompton 2001). The original reference was not available for review and no further information is available. The reliability of this result is not assignable and is only suitable for supporting study.
