Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

solubility in organic solvents / fat solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2011-2012
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: According to OECD Guideline 105, adapted for n-octanol (prelininary test only)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: OECD Guideline 105 adapted for n-octanol
Medium:
n-octanol
Solubility:
> 1 000 g/L
Temp.:

Conclusions:
The test substance is miscible with n-octanol at every ratio.
Executive summary:

The solubility of the test substance in n-octanol was detelmined according to the OECD Guideline for the Testing of Chemicals 105, adapted for n-octanol. The test substance is miscible with n-octanol at 20 °C at every ratio.

Description of key information

The test substance C12-18-DMA is miscible with n-octanol at every ratio.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Solubility in organic solvents at 20°C:
795.8 g/L

Additional information

Solubility in n-octanol was determined for C12-18-DMA and further members of the DMA category at ambient temperature (20-21 °C). C12-18-DMA was completely miscible with n-octanol, as was the case for the other DMAs tested. Accordingly, the limit value for n-octanol solubility is the density of the substance.
