Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The degradation rate of 2-Ethylhexyl Thioglycolate reached 60% within the 10-day window and after 28 days of incubation. According to the test guideline, 2-Ethylhexyl Thioglycolate is considered to be readily biodegradable.

Based on ThODNH4the 10-day window beginning was reached on day two, the mean value for biodegradation was calculated to be 22% on day 3. Therefore, the end of the 10-day window was day 13. After correction for the mean biochemical oxygen demand of the inoculum controls the mean percentage biodegradation based on ThODNH4at the end of the 10-day window was 66% (mean value).

At the end of the 28-day exposure period a mean percentage biodegradation of 82% (ThODNH4) was found.
