Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Only limit studies are available for tests using isopropoxyethanol. A chronic study is available for invertebrates. A comparison with the available data for surrogates and for QSAR is shown in the table below:

Trophic level

Data on substance

Data on surrogate

QSAR prediction

Fish, acute toxicity (LC50)

>100mg/l

2200mg/l

Fish, chronic toxicity (NOEC)

180mg/l

Daphnia acute toxicity (EC50)

>970mg/l

>5000mg/l

1080mg/l

Daphnia chronic toxicity (NOEC)

>98mg/l

70mg/l

Algae acute toxicity (EC50)

6418mg/l

440mg/l

Algae chronic toxicity (EC10)

>1000mg/l

84mg/l

From the information the QSAR predicts that daphnia will be the most sensitive species and fish the least sensitive. However, the available data suggests that the QSAR is very conservative in predicting the toxicity since the measured data for algae is at least 10x the predicted values. The measured data does not indicate a hazard for the aquatic compartment.
