Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

320 mg/L

Additional information

A GLP study according to OECD 209 was performed using activated sludge from a domestic wastewater treatment plant to evaluate the effects of Y-15099 (CAS 220727-26-4) to activated sludge microorganisms (Grützner, 2001). The final nominal test item concentrations tested were 10, 32, 100, 320 and 1000 mg/L. After three hours the inhibition of the respiration rate was recorded. Up to and including the nominal concentration of 320 mg/L the test substance had no inhibitory effects on the respiration rate of microorganisms. An increase in respiration rate was observed at nominal concentrations of 32, 100 and 320 mg/L.

At the highest concentration of 1000 mg/L the inhibitory effect increased to 23%. This resulted in a NOEC of 320 and a LOEC of 1000 mg/L. Additionally, the toxicity control from the biodegradation study according to OECD 301F showed no inhibitory effects on biodegradation at a nominal concentration of 100 mg/L (Grützner, 2001). Hence, it can be assumed that no inhibition of degradation in sewage treatment plants is anticipated.
