Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Reactive Navy FC63805 showed no short-term toxicity to fish and no long- or short-term toxicity to daphnids in aquatic toxicity studies performed according to pertinent guidelines; slight inhibitory effects to algae were observed but were not separable from physical effects (light attenuation by the coloured test substance). Also a study on reproductive toxicity in Daphnia could not identify an adverse effect level. Freshwater green algae were identified as the most senstivity species. Since the data reporting and study design of the algal growth inhibtion study does not allow precise conclusions on algistatic and algicidal effects, the worst-case scenario (all effects related to substance toxicity = algicidal effects) is used for the chemical safety report.

Reactive Navy FC63805 inhibited the respiration rate of activated sludge microorganisms at a concentration range of 10000 mg/L by only 3.4 %. No respiration inhibition was observed at a test substance concentration of 1000 mg/L, which is therefore identified as the NOEC for microorganisms. The EC10 and EC50 were > 10000 mg/L.
