Executive summary:

In a study (CRTL, 2009), the flash point of Guaiacol was determined according to the EC A9 guideline.

The cup of the apparatus was filled with the sample. The heat was supplied at a constant rate 5°C/min with stirring at 120 rpm.

The tests were performed with a temperature ramp beginning at a predetermined temperature.

The determined flash point (closed cup) was 90°C at 1006 hPa.
