First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move exposed subject to fresh air. Seek medical assistance

in case of known or possible over exposure to this material

or with symptoms including chest pain, difficulty breathing,

loss of consciousness or other adverse effects which may be

delayed. IF BREATHING HAS STOPPED, START BASIC LIFE SUPPORT

AND SEEK IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ASSISTANCE.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush eyes continuously with water for at least 15 minutes.

Do not use a chemical neutraliser. Obtain medical assistance

if symptoms occur.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing and flush exposed area with

large amounts of water. Obtain medical assistance if skin

reaction occurs, which may be delayed. Do not use a chemical

neutraliser.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical advice.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, dry powder, carbon dioxide or foam extinguishers.

Product arising from burning: The substance is combustible and will burn if involved in a

fire, evolving noxious fumes (eg carbon, nitrogen and sulfur

oxides). However, there is no experimental evidence to

support the anticipated combustion products.

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and self-contained breathing

apparatus must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate personnel from immediate vicinity.

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment conforming to

the relevant national or international standards as

mentioned in section 2.3.10.

Avoid dust formation by damping down with water. Absorb

spillages of solutions with a suitable inert material (eg

sand or soil). Carefully transfer the spillage to waste

containers, or use a sealed industrial vacuum machine.

Containers filled with waste material must be labelled in

the same way as the original containers.

Clean the spillage area with water.

Dispose of waste material by incineration in accordance with

local regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling: Engineering controls are necessary to reduce exposure to the

substance.

When exposure cannot be prevented or adequately controlled

appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn.

Such protective equipmemt should conform to the appropriate

international or national standards as follows;

Chemical protective gloves to Standard EN374

Chemical resistant clothing to Standard EN368

Eye protection to Standard EN166

When necessary appropriate respiratory protection should be

used. e.g. a dust mask conforming to EN149 FFP1.

The standards mentioned above should be regarded as a

minimum.

Storage: Store in a dry well-ventilated area.

Keep containers tightly closed when not in use.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 25kg crashlock kegs inside antistatic liners.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: There will be no discharge to the environment. Recovery from

minor spillages or accidental discharge is not economically

or technically feasible, and such waste material will be

disposed of by incineration. In principle, it may be

possible to recover larger spillages of uncontaminated

material for subsequent use.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No chemical treatment is practicable to neutralise the

hazardous health properties.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Contaminated containers or spillages of solutions mixed with

inert material (eg sand or soil) should not be disposed of

by landfill.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of by incineration by burning

under controlled conditions at a licensed waste treatment

processor in accordance with local regulations. Stack gases

should be scrubbed, because noxious fumes (eg carbon,

nitrogen and sulfur oxides) could be formed.

the sewage system or the aqueous environment.
