Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: If symptomatic, remove to fresh air. Seek medical attention

if symptoms persist.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Wash out eyes immediately with water. Seek medical attention

if symptoms occur.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water. Seek medical attention if symptoms

occur.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Use water spray, dry chemical or carbon dioxide.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may include metal oxide gas and

oxides of nitrogen, sulfur and carbon.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Self contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing

should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Collect up substance for safe feed to an incinerator. Avoid

generation of dust. Dispose by incineration or contact with

a licensed chemical disposal agency.

Handling and storage

Handling: Safety glasses with side shields or goggles should be worn.

For operations where prolonged or repeated skin contact is

necessary, impervious gloves should be worn. Use process

enclosures, local exhaust ventilation or other engineering

controls to reduce dust concentrations to acceptable levels.

If engineering controls are inadequate, use approved dust

respirators.

Storage: Minimise dust generation and accumulation. Keep away from

sources of ignition. Keep away from oxidising materials and

heat. Keep container closed.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The substance will be imported into the plant site packaged

in black conductive plastic bags enclosed in foil bags

contained in fibre boxes. The containers do not require

warning statements.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Avoid temperatures above 145 deg C. Decomposition can occur

at high temperatures, >245 deg C.

Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Dust explosion: The material, in powder form, may form an explosive dust-air

mixture. Minimise dust generation and accumulation. Keep

away from sources of ignition. Use adequate ventilation.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recomended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incinerate at a temperature >1000 deg C. Waste gas treatment

to remove oxides of nitrogen and sulfur should be fitted.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
