Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with luke warm water for at least 15 minutes.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash exposed area with soap and water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Consult a physician.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Carbon dioxide, dry chemical and foam may be used.

Product arising from burning: Combustion products may contain oxides of carbon, nitrogen

and sulfur.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Fire-fighters should wear a self-contained breathing

apparatus, and full protective clothing.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing, see 2.3.1.

For large spills, prevent spreading with dikes, then absorb

with earth, sand, sawdust or other absorbent material. Scoop

into containers and dispose of with solid waste according to

local regulations. Containers should be labelled.

Small spills should be covered with absorbent and disposed

of as above.

Prevent spilled material from entering drinking water

supplies.

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe the usual precautions when handling organic

chemicals. Use in areas of good ventilation.  Operators

should use safety goggles (BS 2092) and heavy duty nitrile

gloves. During formulation operations, operators should also

utilise safety shoes (anti-static type), overalls and rubber

aprons.

Storage: Store below 40 deg C in 200 litre drums (suitably labelled

and sealed).

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The test substance will be packaged in 200 litre drums.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery and/or recycling is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Neutralisation by mixing with a hardener results in

irreversible conversion to an inert, high molecular weight

polymeric rubber.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Disposal  at a controlled chemical waste landfill site is

possible. (A650)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Destruction by incineration at an approved facility equipped

with waste gas treatment is possible. (A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not possible.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable, the substance is not used by the public at

large.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: Articles containing the substance may be disposed of as

domestic waste.
