Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air.  Obtain medical advice if

symptoms develop.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Irrigate affected eyes with running water for at least 15

minutes with the eyelid held open.  Obtain medical

attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing.  Wash affected skin thoroughly

with water for at least 10 minutes.  If irritation develops,

obtain medical attention.  Contaminated clothing should be

washed before re-use.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Use appropriate medium for the underlying cause of the fire.

(e.g. water, foam for large fires, dry chemical, carbon

dioxide for small fires)

Product arising from burning: Oxides of nitrogen, carbon, hydrogen and sulfur.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Fire fighters should wear full protective clothing and

self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear adequate protective equipment.  Sweep up spillages and

transfer to suitably labelled containers for disposal. Avoid

creating dust.  Wash the spillage area with water.

Handling and storage

Handling: Handle in a well ventilated area under controlled

conditions.  Maintain high standards of housekeeping.  Where

it is likely that dust may be generated (eg, removal of the

substance from filters), use of airline-fed PVC air suits

and protective masks is recommended.

Storage: The substance is packed in clear, 600 g, 24" x 36" polythene

bags, sealed with 250 mm black nylon ties, lined with clear,

400 g, 36" x 54" polythene bags, also sealed with 250 mm

black nylon ties.  The bags are packed in 120 l blue

polythene kegs, also lined with polythene bags.  Ambient

conditions of temperature and light are acceptable for

storage.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Store in a double polythene lined bag inside a UN approved

poly drum.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: The substance should not be mixed or stored with strong

oxidising agents.

Chemical reaction with water: The substance undergoes rapid hydrolysis in water, but does

not form hazardous products in the process.

Dust explosion: Dust explosion characteristics have been determined. Summary

included at 3.1.40.

Dust explosion determined by test: Y

Disposal considerations
