Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: If symptomatic, move to fresh air.  Treat symptomatically.

Get medical attention if symptoms persist.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Any material that is in the eye should be washed out

immediately with water.  Get medical attention if symptoms

occur.

Emergency measure - Skin: After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of

soap and water.  Get medical attention if symptoms occur.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Use fog or spray extinguish material. Powdered material may

form expolsive dust-air mixtures. Fire or high temperatures

may cause decomposition.

Product arising from burning: Fire or excessive heat may produce hazardous decomposition

products (oxides of nitrogen, oxides of sulphur, and

hydrogen chloride).

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Breathing apparatus must be used.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Collect up and put in a suitable container.  Avoid

generating dust.  Clean surface thoroughly to remove

residual contamination.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid prolonged or repeated breathing of dust.  Avoid

contact with eyes, skin and clothing.  Use with adequate

ventilation.  Wash thoroughly after handling.

Storage: Cool conditions (5-30 degrees celsius).  Keep container

closed.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The substance will be imported into the United Kingdom as

itself in sealed, polylined fiber containers.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: High temperatures (>260 degrees celsius) can cause

decomposition.

Chemical reaction with water: None known

Dust explosion: The material, in powder form, may form an explosive dust-air

mixture.  Minimize dust generation and accumulation.  Keep

away from sources of ignition.  Use adequate ventilation.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: It is not practical to recover or recycle the substance.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: It is not practical to neutralize the substance.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: A temperature of 1000 degrees Celsius is expected to be

sufficient to destroy the susbstance.  Combustion will

produce oxides of nitrogen, oxides of sulphur, and hydrogen

chloride. Stack gases must be scrubbed.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Based on a Log Kow >5.00 (using 5.00), and a log Henry's Law

constant <1, the SIMPLETREAT estimation for the removal of

the subject chemical from waste treatment predicts 85% will

be removed by adsorption to sludge; 15% will remain in the

water compartment.  However, professional experience with

chemicals similar to the subject chemical indicates that the

low water solubility of the subject chemical will most

likely cause removal from waste water treatment to be >90% -

due to sludge adsorption.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
