Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The substance is not readily biodegradable and is too insoluble in water for a hydrolysis study to be undertaken. Therefore there is no evidence for non-P or non-vP properties and the substance must be considered to be a potential vP or P.

However, BCF is less than 26 in a bioconcentration study in fish and therefore the substance is not B or vB.

Weight of evidence shows the substance to be not toxic:

i) NOEC >0.01 mg/l in an algal growth inhibition study.

ii) No abnormality observed in any fish over a period of 8 weeks in a fish bioaccumulation study. The concentration of test substance was 0.01 mg/l and 0.1 mg/l and therefore it can be concluded that the NOEC is >0.01 mg/l in a long term study on freshwater organisms.

iv) The substance is not classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic or reprotoxic.

v) The substance is not classified for human health, including Specific Target Organ Toxicity.
