Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If breathing has stopped, apply
artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give
oxygen provided a qualified operator is available. Seek
medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately flush with running water for at least 15
minutes, lifting eyelids periodically to remove
contamination. Seek immediate medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash affected areas with soap and water, then flush with
water for at least 15 minutes. Remove contaminated clothing
and launder clothes before re-use. Seek medical attention
for irritation or any other symptom.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: If conscious, give two to four glasses of water or milk and
induce vomiting by touching finger to back of throat. Seek
immediate medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Carbon dioxide, dry chemical or alcohol foam (polar solvent
foam). Do not use water or standard foam.
Product arising from burning: Silicon dioxide, oxides of nitrogen and carbon.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Fire fighters should wear NIOSH approved self-contained
positive pressure breathing apparatus with full facepiece
and protective clothing to prevent contact with skin and
eyes. Use water spray to cool fire exposed containers.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Always wear recommended personal protective equipment.
Eliminate sources of ignition. Provide proper ventilation
to area. Absorb with inert absorbent and place in an
approved chemical waste container. For large spills, dike
up with inert material and pump into same container. Do not
allow pump to overheat. Do not allow to enter into sewers
or waterways.
Handling and storage
Handling: Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. For routine
product handling wear long-sleeved shirt, butyl rubber,
neoprene or nitrile gloves, safety glasses or goggles and
trousers. If liquid contact is possible, wear impervious
clothing and full face shield. Do not wear contact lenses.
Use of local exhaust and/ or a fume hood is recommended.
NIOSH approved respirators should be used if mist or vapour
accumulates.
Storage: Store in a cool dry place away from heat (temperature <
35'C), strong acids and oxidisers. Protect from physical
damage. Keep containers upright and tightly sealed. Do not
expose to moisture. Do not reuse drum.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The substance is stored in 50-200 kg steel drums
(epoxyphenolic lined or coated).

Danger other than fire: Avoid exposure to strong acids and heat treatment,
especially in the presence of iron, as hazardous
polymerisation may occur. Can react violently if in contact
with electrophiles, such as ferric chloride.
Chemical reaction with water: Avoid exposure to water as hazardous polymerisation may
occur.
Dust explosion: Not applicable, as substance is a liquid.

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance is used as a cross-linking agent for polymers,
and as such it is not possible to recycle/ recover the used
substance.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable. The substance is water reactive and
hydrolyses in contact with atmospheric moisture.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incinerate at an approved facility. 100% destruction, treat
for silica oxide solid ash.
