First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: - Move exposed person to fresh air. In case of indisposition

seek medical advice.

Handling and storage

Handling: - Observe the usual precautions for handling chemicals. If

the substance is handled as powder, avoid inhalation of

dust and wear dust mask. Use equipment for handling

powders or other appropriate engineering controls. Avoid

skin contact and wear impermeable gloves. Take pre-

cautionary measures against static discharges.

Storage: - The substance should be stored in well sealed and secure

containers in adequate rooms at room temperature.

Avoid residues outside the containers.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: - The commercial preparation is supplied either in steel

drums or in strong corrugated cardboard containers with

incorporated polyethylene sacks.

Removal by controlled discharge to a waste water treatment

It is estimated that 28% of the total quantity used is

discharged into internal industrial effluents as highly

diluted solution. A purification of the waste water in a

waste water treatment plant is recommended.

The dyestuff should be used in a well equiped dye house.

If necessary, the waste water can be purified prior to

the waste water treatment by membrane filtration or by

floculation with cationic agents or by treatment with

ozone. The most effective method is the membrane fil-

tration: More than 99% of the remaining dyestuff can be

removed from the waste water.
