Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air.  Symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with water for at least 10 minutes.  If irritation

persists seek medical advice.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with water.  Seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, foam, carbon dioxide or dry powder may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and wate

r.

Protective equipment: Impermeable chemical resistant gloves, boots and overalls

should be worn together with an approved postive pressure,

self contained breathing apparatus with full face mask.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing (see 2.3.00).  Absorb

spillage using sand or clay.  Colelct or transfer to

labelled containers and dispose of by incineration in

accordance with local regulations.  Do not allow spill to

enter surface drains or waterways.

Handling and storage

Handling: Ensure adequate ventilation.  Avoid inhalation and contact

with skin and eyes.  Impermeable PVC gloves, boots,

faceshield and protective overalls should be worn.  When

exposure to vapour is a possibility a full face-piece

respirator with organic vapour cartridge (NPF-20) should be

worn.

Storage: Store in acool, well ventilated area away from sources of

ignition and strong oxidising agents.  The substance should

be stired under nitrogen (to reduce levels of peroxide

formation) in approved steel, galvanised or preferably

plastic lined containers.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Peroxide fromation occurs on storage.  This is minimised by

storage under nitrogen.

Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method at a suitable facility.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance itself will not enter the public domain.
