Description of key information

From the results of the ready biodegradability test (degradation: 0 % on day 28) and BOD5/COD ratio (BOD5/COD=1.6 %), it can be concluded that the test substance is not readily biodegradable. An inherent biodegradability test according to OECD Guideline 302B is available. The biodegradation of test substance on day 28 was 18 %. Therefore, Reactive Orange 136 was found to be slightly biodegradable over the 28-day exposure period under the test conditions.

The information from biodegradation and hydrolysis tests is sufficient to conclude on the persistence assessment. Thus simulation tests of biodegradation and identification of degradation products were waived.
