Administrative data
First-aid measures
Eye Contact:
Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, while holding eyelids apart to ensure flushing of entire surface, call a physician.
Skin Contact:
Immediately flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Thoroughly clean clothing and shoes before re-use, call a physician.
Inhalation:
Remove to fresh air. If not breathing give artificial respiration, preferably mouth to mouth. If breathing is difficult give Oxygen. Call a physician.
Ingestion:
Do not induce vomiting. Rinse mouth with water. Dilute stomach contents by drinking water. If vomiting occurs spontaneously, keep head below hips to prevent breathing vomit into lungs. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Call a physician immediately.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media: Use either dry chemical, foam or water spray
Special fire fighting procedures: Prevent human exposure to fire, fumes, smoke, and products of combustion. Evacuate non essential personnel. Firefighters should wear full face, self-contained breathing apparatus and impervious protective clothing. A direct stream of water may cause foaming. Use water to cool containers exposed to fire.
Unusual fire and explosion hazards: None currently none.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions:
Evacuate non-essential personnel, eliminate ignition sources, and wear protective equipment. Shut off source of leak only if safe to do so. Wear respiratory equipment if exposure limits are exceeded.
Contain spill:
Prevent additional discharge of material, if possible to do so without hazard. Contain spill, sweep up, collect and place in a disposal container. Avoid runoff into storm sewers and ditches which lead to waterways. This material is water soluble/dispersible, and may not be recoverable. Product is extremely slippery.
Disposal method:
Recover spilled material and place in suitable containers for recycle or disposal. Dispose of material in accordance with all federal, state and local agencies. Local regulations may be more stringent than federal or state.
Handling and storage
Handling:
Wear protective equipment when handling. Use only with adequate ventillation. Wash thoroughly after handling. Do not get in eyes or skin. Do not breathe vapor, mist or dust. Avoid prolonged or repeated contact with skin. Do not swallow. Do not pressurize, cut, heat or weld containers. For industrial use only. The containers when emptied will contain product residues (vapor or liquid) and all labeled hazard precautions must be observed.
Storage:
Keep container closed when not in use. Store in a cool dry place. Store away from incompatible materials. Product is slightly hygroscopic and should be stored in a dry area to prevent moisture picking up and caking. Keep out of the REACH of children.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Engineering controls: General ventillation is usually adequate, Mechanical ventillation may be required to maintain exposure levels below limits.
Respiratory Protection: If exposure may occur, use a NIOSH/MSHA respirator approved for your conditions of exposure. Refer to the most recent NIOSH publications concerning chemical hazards, or consult your safety equipment supplier. Respiratory protection programs must be in compliance with OSHA requirements in 29 CFR 1910.134. For emergencies a NIOSH/MSHA approved positive pressure-breathing apparatus should be readily available.
Eye protection:
Safety glasses and face shield. Always wear eye protection when working with chemicals. Do not wear contact lenses when working with chemicals.
Skin Protection:
Impervious gloves (rubber or neoprene), clean protective body covering
Other protective equipment:
Safety shower, eye wash fountain, and washing facilities should be readily available.
Work hygienic practices:
Avoid contact with skin and eyes and clothing. After handling this product, wash hands before eating, drinking or smoking. If contact occurs, remove contaminated clothing. If needed take First Aid action. Launder contaminated clothing before re-use.
Stability and reactivity
Chemical stability: stable under normal conditions
Materials to avoid: Aluminium, magnesium and other metals which may react with alkalis.
Hazard decomposition or by products: Hydrogen by reaction of metals
Hazardous polymerisation: Will not occur under normal conditions
Disposal considerations
Waste disposal method: Follow applicable local, state and federal regulations.
