The determination of the surface tension of an aqueous solution of FAT 40825/A was based on the OECD Guideline No. 115: "Surface Tension of Aqueous Solutions" (1995) and on the EEC Directive 92/69, Part A, Methods for the determination of physico-chemical properties, A.5 "Surface tension", EEC Publication No. L383, December 1992. The experiment was performed using a tensiometer. The calibration factor was determined to be 1.0493 for double distilled water. In conclusion, the surface tension of FAT 40825/A in water (at a concentration of about 0.1 %) was determined to be 75.3 mN/mat 21.2 °C. FAT 40825/A is not a surface active substance.
