Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Bring affected person to fresh air. If adverse reactions

develop or exposure was moderate or high, seek medical

Emergency measure - Eyes: Irrigate eyes with clean water for at least 15 minutes and

seek medical advice.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing immediately and drench affected

skin with plenty of water. Then wash affected areas with

soap and water. Wash affected clothing before re-use.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Common extinguishing agents such as water fog, carbon

dioxide, foam or dry chemical or dry sand can be used.

Product arising from burning: Nitrogen and carbon oxides; chlorine oxide; iron oxide.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: In the event of fire, full breathing apparatus including a

chemical cartridge respirator with a carbon monoxide

cartridge should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: In the case of indistrial spillage, shut off all ignition

sources. Isolate spilled substance (during this avoid

generation of airborne particles); collect the material

using paper towels and place those to a closed container for

disposal. Wear suitable protective clothing and damp down

material before collection and transfer to suitable

containers for disposal by incineration and landfill. Wash

down contaminated areas with plenty of water, using

containment to avoid washings reaching drains or surface

waters. Totally dispose of according to EU, national and

local regulations (authorized waste processing: deposit or

Handling and storage

Handling: - Observe general precautions for use of chemical products

- Wear standard protective clothes and instruments

- Keep storage container closed and store in a cool area

- Avoid breathing substance aerosols

- Wash thoroughly after handling

- Ensure correct function of ventilation system

- Minimize generation of airborne particles by handling the

substance only at specified sites of the factory

Storage: No special precautions necessary for storage: substance is

imported and packed in closed containers. Store at room

temperature at a ventilated place, away fro direct sunlight.

The container should be appropriately labelled, kept

upright and sealed.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 15 kg polyethylene bag of size 1050 x 444 x 444 mmm

(thickness PE: 0.08 mm).

Carton box: 341 x 411 x 350 mm.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: There is no possibility for recycling of the substance. In

the event of recovery, the substance should be disposed of

and not be re-used.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Dispose of at landfill at licensed site.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Disposal by incineration is recommended. Stack gases should

be scrubbed.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance as such will not be handled by the general

Toner cartridges (which may contain residues of the

substance) will normally be incinerated though some may be

The toner will be fixed onto paper which will be disposed of

in general office waste. The possibility exists that some

of this paper waste will be recycled.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: This is the recommended method of disposal. Substance is

destroyed by incineration. Stack gases should be scrubbed.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: None
