Additional information

The procedure for the determination of the oxidizing properties is described in the following guideline: European Community (EC), Commission directive 2004/73/EC, Part A, Methods for the determination of physico-chemical properties, A21: "Oxidizing properties (liquids)", EC Publication No, L 152, April 2004. Examination of the structure of the test substance establishes beyond reasonable doubt that the substance is incapable of showing a positive result in the test described in the EC A21 guideline. The substance does not contain any group that might act as an oxidizing agent The oxygen atoms that are present in the chemical are bonded to sulphur or carbon, which indicates that the molecule is oxygen-deficient. In conclusion, 1-ETHYL-3-METHYL IMIDAZOLIUM ETHYLSULFATE has no oxidizing properties.
