Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Chronic test towards earthworm 56d (OECD 222):

The chronic toxicity of Benzenepropanoic acid, 3,5-bis(1,1-dimethylethyl)-4-hydroxy-,C7-9-branched alkyl esters towards earth worms was determined in a GLP test according to OECD guideline 222 using artificial soil (ECT 2006).

The NOEC for biomass (28 days) was determined to be >1000 mg test item/kg soil (dw). The 56 day NOEC for reproduction was determined as 250 mg test item/kg soil (dw) and the LOEC reproduction was determined as 500 mg test item/kg soil (dw). The EC50 value (56 days) for reproduction was calculated as 945,44 mg test item/kg soil (dw). The results indicate that Benzenepropanoic acid, 3,5-bis(1,1-dimethylethyl)-4-hydroxy-,C7-9-branched alkyl esters exhibit no negative chronic effects towards soil macro-organisms even at high test substance concentrations.

Acute test towards earthworm (OECD 207):

In addition, the acute toxicity towards earthworm was tested in a GLP-study according to OECD guideline 207 (1984) in a 14-day test with nominal concentrations of 96, 172, 309, 556, 1000 mg/kg dry soil. No significant mortality and no abnormal behavior or symptoms of toxicity were recorded at any test concentration.
