Assessment of the parent compound Benzenepropanoic acid, 3,5-bis(1,1-dimethylethyl)-4-hydroxy-,C7-9-branched alkyl esters (CAS: 125643 -61 -0)

The terrestrial toxicity of Benzenepropanoic acid, 3,5-bis(1,1-dimethylethyl)-4-hydroxy-,C7-9-branched alkyl esters has been extensively tested towards various organisms. The following table reflects the outcome of these tests:

There are no data on the chronic toxicity of birds available. However, the substance has no toxicological classification that is relevant for secondary poisoning (see chapter 2 Classification and Labelling). Hence, the substance is considered not to cause toxic effects if accumulated. Therefore, secondary poisoning is of no concern for this substance.

Supporting assessment of the impurity Metilox (CAS 6386-38-5)

The effects on seedling emergence and early growth of higher plants were assessed with the three species Lolium perenne, Brassica rapa and Vicia sativa in growth test in accordance to OECD guideline 208. The test was conducted with nominal concentrations of 1, 10 and 100 mg/kg. No toxic effects were observed in all three species neither emergence nor growth.
