Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Chronic test on sediment dwelling organisms (OECD 218):

In accordance with GLP regulations the toxicity of Benzenepropanoic acid, 3,5-bis(1,1-dimethylethyl)-4-hydroxy-,C7-9-branched alkyl esters to the sediment dwelling oligochaete Lumbriculus variegatus was investigated in a 28-day static sediment-water study (ECT 2006).

With respect to biomass and reproduction the test showed a clear dose-response relationship.

For the endpoint survival there was no dose-response relationship (no mortality was observed up to the highest concentration level). Therefore no LCx-values could be calculated.

The NOEC for the parameter reproduction and biomass was determined to be 37.0 mg/kg sediment dry weight (nominal). The LOECreproduction/biomass was 111.1 mg/kg sediment dry weight (nominal).

The mean measured initial recovery found in the water-sediment system (119.0%) was calculated from the recoveries found in samples of the analysed concentration levels on day 0 of the exposure phase. This mean initial recovery differed by less than 20% from the nominal concentrations, therefore the biological results were not corrected for measured concentrations but based on nominal concentrations instead.
