Description of key information

The geometric mean measured exposure EC50-value for inhibition of specific growth rate (ErC50) and biomass growth (EbC50) after 72 h was > 88.2 mg/L, the NOEC (geometric mean measured concentration, 0 - 72 hours) was ≥ 88.2 mg/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The toxicity test to aquatic algae (Caspers_1997) performed according to EU Method C.3. and GLP was rated with RL=2 (reliable with restrictions) and used as a key study. The results indicate that the test item was found not to inhibit the growth of the freshwater green alga Desmodesmus subspicatus up to a nominal concentration of 100 mg/L and a geometric mean measured concentration of 88.2 mg/L.
