Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move exposed person to fresh air. In case of indisposition

seek medical advice.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water and seek medical advice.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothes. Wash with soap and water. If

irritation occurs, seek medical advice.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Symptomatic treatment. In case of indisposition seek

medical advice.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, dry powder, foam, carbon dioxide.

Product arising from burning: Carbon oxides (CO, CO2), nitrogen oxides (NOx).

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective

clothing.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Solids: Sweep up (wet powders with water) and place

in suitable containers for disposal.

Dispose of absorbed material in accordance with the

regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe usual precautions when handling chemicals.

If the pure substance is handled as powder, avoid inhalation

of dust and wear dust mask. Use equipment for handling

powders or other appropriate engineering controls.

Avoid eye and skin contact and wear safety goggles and

impermeable gloves.

Storage: The substance should be stored in well sealed and secure

containers in adequate rooms, at room temperature.

Avoid residues outside the containers.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The commercial preparation is supplied in 25 kg containers.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: None known.

Chemical reaction with water: No dangerous reaction with water (refer to 3.1.00).

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Under normal processing the substance will be

phys/chemically bound to fibres to 97.9%.

No method for the recycling or recovery of the remaining

substance is available.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not suitable for deposit in landfill site.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Code 661: "Incinerator with flue gas scrubbing".

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Code 641: "Removal by controlled discharge to a waste

water treatment plant".

It is estimated that approx. 2.1% of the total quantity used

is discharged into internal industrial effluents as highly

diluted solution. A purification of the waste water in a

waste water treatment plant is recommended. The dyestuff

should be used in a well equiped dye house.

If necessary, the waste water can be purified prior to the

waste water treatment by membrane filtration or by

floculation with appropriate agents or by treatment with

ozone. The most effective method is the membrane filtration:

more than 97% of the remaining dyestuff can be removed

fromthe waste water.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: Not applicable.
