Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

One reliable study is available for toxicity to earthworm reproduction of CHIMEXANE NV according to OECD TG 222. The study is classified as reliable without restrictions. Under the conditions of this study, the 56d-NOEC was determined to be 1000 mg/kg dry soil for mortality, growth, reproduction and feeding activity of earthworms. For the purposes of chemical safety assessment, the NOECexperiment from soil toxicity test is converted to a standard soil, which is defined as a soil with an organic carbon content of 2.0%.

The organic carbon content of the used peat batch was 49.4%. The peat accounts for 10% w/w of the test soil, thus the fraction of organic carbon from the artificial soil is calculated at 4.94%.

Considering the organic carbon content of 4.94% in the experiment soil, the NOECstandard is calculated from NOECexperiment as following:

NOECstandard = NOECexperiment x (Focstandard / Focexperiment)

NOECstandard = 1000 x (0.02 / 0.0494)

This gives a NOECstandard of 405 mg/kg soil dwt.
