First-aid measures

General advice : Move out of dangerous area. Consult a physician. Show this safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance.

If inhaled : Move to fresh air.

Consult a physician after significant exposure.

In case of skin contact : Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately.

Wash off with soap and plenty of water.

Immediate medical treatment is necessary as untreated

wounds from corrosion of the skin heal slowly and with

difficulty.

In case of burns apply cold water until pain subsides then seek medical advice.

In case of eye contact : Small amounts splashed into eyes can cause irreversible

tissue damage and blindness.

In the case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty

of water and seek medical advice.

Continue rinsing eyes during transport to hospital.

Remove contact lenses.

Protect unharmed eye.

Keep eye wide open while rinsing.

If swallowed : Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water.

Do NOT induce vomiting.

Do not give milk or alcoholic beverages.

Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

Take victim immediately to hospital.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media : Use water fog, foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide (CO2) to extinguish flames

Unsuitable extinguishing media: Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment.

Combustibility : Not classified as flammable or combustible, but will combust if ignited.

Hazardous combustion products : Phosphorus oxides, Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and unburned hydrocarbons (smoke). Sulphur oxides

Protective equipment and precautions for firefighters: In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

Fire Fighting Instructions : Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. This must not be discharged into drains.

Fire residues and contaminated fire extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions :

Advice for emergency responders

Ensure adequate ventilation. Use personal protective equipment. Evacuate personnel to safe areas. For personal protection see section 8.

Advice for non-emergency personnel

Avoid contact with spilled material. Do not touch or walk through spilled material. Keep people away from and upwind of spill/leak.

Environmental precautions : Prevent entry into waterways, sewers, basements or confined areas.

Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. If the product contaminates rivers and lakes or drains inform respective authorities

Methods for cleaning up : Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so.

Large Spills: Dyke far ahead of liquid spill for later recovery and disposal. Recover by pumping or with suitable absorbent

Report spills as required to appropriate authorities. Seek the advice of a specialist before using dispersants. Dispose of according to local regulations. In the event of a spill or accidental release, notify relevant authorities in accordance with all applicable regulations. Material will sink to the sediment layer Remove debris in path of spill prior to oiling and remove contaminated debris from shoreline and water surface. Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust). Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.

Handling and storage

Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Smoking, eating and drinking should be prohibited in the application area.

To avoid spills during handling keep bottle on a metal tray.

Dispose of rinse water in accordance with local and national regulations.

Normal measures for preventive fire protection.
