Administrative data

Endpoint:
flammable solids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: see 'Remark'
Remarks:
The reliability is rated 2 because the study followed the standard guideline of reference (EU A.11 method), which describes a procedure designed to evaluate this endpoint, the results were reviewed for reliability and assessed as valid. Nevertheless no information was available wheter or not the study was conducted under GLP condition.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
non flammable
Remarks:
Migrated information
Conclusions:
Under the experimental conditions, and during a preliminary test, the combustion front does not reach the first reference. As a result,
SEPISOL FAST BLUE 2BR is not considered as a flammable solid.
Executive summary:

A test to determine if Sepisol Fast Blue 2BR is a flammable solid has been carried out by following the EU method A.10.

The test material is formed into an unbroken strip or powder train about 250 mm long by 20 mm wide by 10 mm high on a non-combustible, non-porous and low heat -conducting base plate. A hot flame from a gas burner is applied to one end of the powder train until the powder ignites for a maximum of 2 minutes.

During the preliminary assay, the combustion front does not reach the first reference.

It has been concluded that Sepisol Fast Blue 2BR was not a flammable solid according to the annex V of directive EC/67/548.
