In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VIII Nr 9.3.1 column 2, the study does not need to be conducted as the substance has a low potential for absorption (log Kow < 3, see Sect. 4.7) and is readily biodegradable (see Sect. 5.2.1).

Based on a calculated log Koc of 1.1363 (Koc = 13.69). N,N-Dimethylbutylamine is expected to have a high mobility in soil (GUBDH, 2012). This value is used for the calculation of PNECs sediment and soil.

 

Henry’s Law constant

Henry’s law constant (HLC) of N,N-Dimethylbutylamine at 25°C was estimated by calculation using the group contribution method of Maylan and Howard (1995) (US EPA EPI Suite v4.10, program component HENRYWIN v3.20) (GUBDH, 2012; program).

calculated HLC (25°C) = 31.2 Pa m³/mol. This value is used for the calculation of PNEC soil.

N,N-Dimethylbutylamine is expected to volatilize only to a low degree from water.
