Description of key information

From the assessment of the chemical structure it was established that ETD would not have oxidising properties

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
no

Additional information

An assessment of the oxidising properties of ETD was conducted as part of a package of physico-chemical testing (Huntingdon Life Sciences, 2010, Study number VHJ0011). The testing was conducted in compliance with GLP, and the oxidising properties assessment was performed according to EC Guideline method A21.

The chemical structure of ETD was assessed; as ETD was found not to contain Oxygen, Fluorine, or Chlorine, it was concluded that ETD would not have oxidising properties..

Justification for classification or non-classification

ETD was concluded not to have oxidising properties on the basis of the chemical structure. On this basis, classification for oxidising properties is not applicable under either the CLP regulation (Regulation (EC)1272/2008) or the Dangerous Substances Directive (67/548/EEC).
