First-aid measures

General advice: Immediate medical attention is required.

Eye contact:

Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. Keep eye wide open while rinsing. If eye irritation persists, consult a specialist.

Skin contact

Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water. If symptoms persist, call a physician. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before re-use. Destroy contaminated shoes.

Ingestion

Do NOT induce vomiting. Call a physician or Poison Control Center immediately. Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

Inhalation

Move to fresh air. Oxygen or artificial respiration if needed. Get medical attention immediately if symptoms occur.

Protection of First-aiders

Use personal protective equipment. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media

Suitable Extinguishing Media:

Dry chemical, CO 2, sand, earth, water spray or regular foam. Move containers from fire area if you can do it without risk. Dike fire-control water for later disposal.

Extinguishing media which shall not be used for safety reasons: Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread fire. Cool containers / tanks with water spray.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:

Combustible material. Thermal decomposition can lead to release of irritating gases and vapors.

Advice for firefighters

As in any fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective gear.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:

Do not touch damaged containers or spilled material unless wearing appropriate protective clothing. Ensure adequate ventilation.

Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Use personal protective equipment.

Ventilate the area.

Environmental precautions

Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Should not be released into the environment.

Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up

Methods for Containment

Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Dike to collect large liquid spills.

Methods for cleaning up

Soak up with inert absorbent material. Pick up and transfer to properly labeled containers. If liquid has been spilt in large quantities

clean up promptly by scoop or vacuum. Clean contaminated surface thoroughly

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling

Advice on safe handling

Prevent splashing and leaking of product. Prevent the formation of vapors, mists and aerosols. Ensure adequate ventilation. In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Avoid breathing vapors or mists. Wear personal protective equipment. Wash thoroughly after handling.

Hygiene measures

Do not eat, drink or smoke during work. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating, drinking, or using tobacco. Avoid contact with skin, eyes or clothing.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Technical measures/Storage conditions

Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Keep away from heat and sources of ignition.
