First-aid measures

Eye contact: Holding the eyelids apart, flush eyes promptly with copious flowing water for at least 20 minutes. Get medical attention immediately.

Skin contact: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin thoroughly with mild soap and plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Wash clothing before re-use. Get medical attention immediately.

Inhalation: In case of dust inhalation or breathing fumes released from heated material, remove person to fresh air. Keep teh affected person quiet and warm. Apply artificial respiration if necessary and get medical attention immediately.

Ingestion: If swallowed, wash mouth thoroughly with plenty of water and give water to drink. Get medical attention immediately.

NOTE: Never give an unconscious person anything to drink.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media: Material does not burn. Use extinguishing media appropriate to surrounding fire conditions. Do not use chemical extinguishers or foams or attempt to smother the fire with steam or sand.

Fire fighting procedure: Call the fire brigade. Avoid breathing the fumes as they may be toxic. Stand upwind of the fire.  In closed stores, provide fire-fighters with self contained breathing apparatus in positive pressure mode.

Special fire fighting equipment: Self-contained breathing apparatus, full protective clothing.

Unusual fire and explosion hazards: Emits toxic fumes of phosphorus oxides (POx).

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Wear dusk mask or respirator, chemical safety goggles or face shield, rubber gloves and boots when handling.

After spillage / leakage: Scoop up, collect and place the product in a clean, labeled container for re-use or for safe disposal according to the regulations of the local authority.

Remaining of the product should be diluted with water. Take care to avoid contamination of drains and watercourses.

Handling and storage

Handling: Hygroscopic - Prevent contact with air and moisture. Avoid excessive generation and inhalation of dust. Avoid eye and bodily contact and use appropriate personal protective equipment. Prevent from contact with incompatible materials such as alkalis, acids, oxidizing materials.

Storage: Keep containers tightly closed.

Store in a dry, cool, well-ventilated area away from incompatible materials as specified above.

Materials to avoid: Humidity, water, alkalis, acids, oxidizing materials.

Conditions to avoid: Fire, excessive heat, moisture/water.

Hazardous reactions / decomposition products: Fumes produced when heated to decomposition may include corrosive phosphorous oxides.

Hazardous polymerization: Not likely to occur when stored under proper conditions

Disposal considerations

Prevent discharging of waste into watercourses and drains. Dispose according to the regulations of the local authorities. Mark and dispose empty packaging in accordance with local environmental regulations.
