Description of key information

Based on the available acute toxicity data of the constituents of Reaction mass of 2,4 -Dichloronitrobenzene and 2,6 -Dichloronitrobenzene taking into account the main constituent, it can be assumed that the overall LD50(oral) is about 376 mg/kg bw and the overall LD50 (dermal) is about 921 mg/kg bw. With respect to acute inhalation toxicity no reliable conclusion can be drawn.

OVERALL CONCLUSION

Based on the available acute toxicity data of the constituents of Reaction mass of 2,4 -Dichloronitrobenzene and 2,6 -Dichloronitr obenzene taking into account the main constituent, it can be assumed that the overall LD50(oral) is about 376 mg/kg bw and the overall LD50 (dermal) is about 921 mg/kg bw. With respect to acute inhalation toxicity no reliable conclusion can be drawn.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the available acute toxicity data of the constituents of Reaction mass of 2,4 -Dichloronitrobenzene and 2,6 -Dichloronitrobenzene, this reaction mass has to be allocated to category 4 (H302) of the acute oral toxic substances and category 3 (H311) of acute dermal toxic substances according to Regulation (EC) 1272, 2008 (GHS). According to Regulation 67/548/EWG Reaction mass of 2,4 -Dichloronitrobenzene and 2,6 -dichloronitrobenzene is evaluated as harmfull if swallowed and if contact with skin occurs (R22/21)
