Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

There is one reliable study available regarding the toxic effect of Reaction mass of 2-piperazin-1 -ylethanol and Piperazine-1,4-diethanol and piperazine (CHEP). The study was performed according to OECD 201 under GLP conditions. The test material was hydroxyethyl piperazine mixture. The test species was Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata. The test was performed as a limit test with one concentration, which was analytically verified. The measured concentration was ±20% of the nominal value (101% mean recovery). Therefore the effect values are based on nominal concentrations. The 72 -h effect values are as follows: NOErC <= 120 mg/L, ErC10 > 120 mg/L, ErC50 > 120 mg/L (BASF SE, 2012; report no. 60E0722/11E129).

In conclusion, the reaction mass is with high probability acutely not harmful to algae.
