According to Kollig et al. (1993), Boethling & Mackay (2000) and Harris (1990) the structure of the major components of the

reaction mass of 2 -piperazin-1 -ylethanol, piperazine-1,4 -diethanol and piperazine (50, 25 and 25%)

do not contain any functional groups sensitive to hydrolysis. Moreover, piperazine (110 -85 -0) is a readily biodegradable substance.
