A hydrolysis study of 2,3 -bis((2 -mercaptoethyl)thio)-1 -propanethiol in water, which was conducted in accordance with the testing guideline EG C.10 and GLP, demonstrated that at 50 °C 2,3 -bis((2 -mercaptoethyl)thio)-1 -propanethiol is neither hydrolytically stable at pH 4, indicated by a measured half-life of < 0.5h, nor stable at pH 7 and pH 9, indicated by an measured half-life of 1h and < 0.5h, respectively. Based on the results of this study, hydrolysis would be a major route of elimination of
