Endpoint:
flash point of flammable liquids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
march 2013
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
comparable to guideline study with acceptable restrictions
Remarks:
The test was conducted in an accreditated laboratory according to EU official method for testing flash point.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
ISO No., other: UNI EN ISO 3680:2005.
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
equilibrium method closed cup
Key result
Atm. press.:
1 000 mBar
Remarks on result:
flash point cannot be measured because of the presence of halogen hydrocarbons

The test was conducted at the pressure of 1000 mbar.

During the test, the sample of 1,1,2 -trichloro-1,2 -difluoroethane did not show signs of flammability. At the temperature of -5 °C the pilot light turned off.

As a result, the sample of 1,1,2 -trichloro-1,2 -difluoroethane is not flammable.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
1,1,2-trichloro-1,2-difluoroethane is not flammable, since no signs of flammability were observed during the test.
Executive summary:

The test was conducted in an accredited laboratory, according to the UNI EN ISO 3680:2005 method.

The test was performed at the pressure of 1000 mbar. During the test, the sample of 1,1,2-trichloro-1,2-difluoroethane did not show signs of flammability. At the temperature of -5 °C the pilot light turned off.

In conclusion, 1,1,2-trichloro-1,2-difluoroethane is not flammable.

Description of key information

No flash point was observed during the test.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
